Community Groups
We practice four rhythms in our Community Groups.
Learning Together
Jesus’ call for us to love God with our whole heart, soul, and mind, means that if we’re followers of Jesus we need to be engaging in learning together. We learn in a variety of ways, but one of the central ways is through God’s Word -the Bible. Here we learn who God is, who we are, how to live fully, and how to participate in God’s vision of renewal for all of creation.
Eating Together
Jesus spent a lot of time eating with a variety of people. No matter their pasts or woundedness, the table was a place of friendship and welcome for him. Likewise, we hope our tables can be places where others experience the hospitality of God as we connect in friendship.
Praying Together
Prayer is the means of knowing God. It is like oxygen to the Christian! We want our Community Groups to be places where people are always growing closer to Jesus through prayer. We hope that Community Groups will have stories to tell of ways God has moved in their lives because of the prayers they’ve prayed together.
Serving Together
Serving is how Jesus demonstrated his love for the world. He humbled himself at the incarnation, when he washed his disciples’ feet, and ultimately at the cross. We follow Jesus when we serve our neighbours and the city we're in.
Growing in faith is best done with others.
Church is not only a gathering on Sunday, but also a community sharing life around tables in homes throughout the week. A Community Group is a community of people growing in friendship with God and one another while practicing the way of Jesus together.
