Team Player
While we all have certain lanes to run in, we are all willing to pitch in to help when needed. “Where can I help?” fosters healthy team rather than, “It’s not my job.” A team player doesn’t just focus on the work to be done— they also contribute to a positive and fun work culture through their social engagement, their attentiveness to others, and their willingness to have fun and celebrate together as a working group.
Passion
We function at our best when each of us is energized and motivated to accomplish our work and do it well. Understanding how each of our unique roles is playing into the mission and vision of our church brings a sense of purpose that motivates us to do things with excellence.
Healthy Communication
Healthy communication goes beyond good communication systems (although those are very important as well!). It involves self-awareness, self-control, courage, and kindness. We think most things can be worked out if our team is practicing healthy communication.
Humility
There are no superstars on our team—just gifted men and women that are good at some things and not-so good at others. Humility allows us to admit our mistakes, it welcomes good ideas from others without being threatened, and frees us up to apologize when we make mistakes (which we all do). It also allows us to be our authentic selves where we don’t have to ‘present’ ourselves as always competent and (our work) always successful.
Balance
We work best when we live whole lives that are enriched by friends and family, hobbies, time away, rest and reflection. Over-working is not celebrated here. While there are inevitably seasons that are more busy or hectic than others, we want to be a team that works hard, plays hard, and rests well.
